Beverage Cup Sealer Troubleshooting: Sealing Film Keeps Spinning [Error Code E04] | Phoenixes - Sealing Machine Repair Tutorial

Cup Sealer Machine Error Code: E04 — Sensor Error Troubleshooting

Is your cup sealer machine continuously running (spinning) but not sealing, with the screen displaying E04?

This usually means the machine cannot detect the "eye mark" (sensor dot) on the sealing film. This inability to sense the correct position naturally prevents the sealing action from being initiated.

This article will show you how to quickly resolve this sensor issue through simple inspection and cleaning!

First, confirm the position of the sealing film and the sensing area are correct.

1. Confirm the Sealing Film is Installed Correctly
First, ensure the sealing film spool and the clamp plates (or guides) are installed in the correct positions.

2. Confirm the Sealing Film is properly positioned within the "Sensing Area."
The sealing film has a black or dark-colored "eye mark" (sensor dot). Please ensure this eye mark is located within the detection range of the photo-eye sensor (usually indicated by a green light on the machine).

Solutions to the Problem: Two Methods to Troubleshoot the Cup Sealer Machine E04 Error

1. Clean the Photo-Eye Sensor Head

清潔感應電眼

Gently wipe the photo-eye sensor using a clean cloth or paper towel. If there is grease or dust, you may first wipe it with a damp cloth, and then dry it thoroughly with a dry cloth to ensure the sensing area is clean.

※If the problem persists, the next step is to try adjusting the sensor sensitivity!

2. Fine-tune the Photo-Eye Sensor Sensitivity

You can use a flat-head screwdriver to fine-tune the photo-eye sensor screw:

First, turn it clockwise until it stops, then turn it back counter-clockwise by approximately 45 degrees. This is the factory default setting for the photo-eye sensor and allows it to accurately re-detect.

*Adjustment Note: Simply adjust the screw until the indicator light changes state when the film's eye mark passes! *

💡Quick Reminders

- The small adjustment tool (or tuning tool) will be randomly included in the instruction manual bag. Alternatively, you may use a small flat-head screwdriver.

- When adjusting, please turn gently to avoid stripping the screw threads (thread damage).

- If the E04 error persists after repeating the cleaning and adjustment steps, it is recommended that you stop using the machine and contact a technician for assistance.

The E04 error is typically just a minor issue with the photo-eye sensor; it does not mean your machine is broken!

By following the steps above—checking, cleaning, and fine-tuning—the machine can usually return to normal operation immediately.
